A procedure whereby fruit acids are applied to the skin.
Uses:
- skin rejuvenation
- pigmentation
- acne and scarring
- improved skin tone and glow - removes only the dead skin layers
- Remove solar keratoses ( sun spots) in a way that rejuvenates the skin and does not cause white spots as liquid nitrogen does
The treatment time is about a half an hour. It also prepares the skin when done one week before IPL or Radio Frequency, removing the dead skin layer for better treatment results.
What to expect:
The peel is applied onto a clean skin surface after which a soothing gel is massaged onto the skin. The peel is left on for a length of time which will differ depending on the skin type, and whether a previous peel has been done. It is then washed off with a cleanser and aftercare is applied, with a sunscreen. You may then go back to work but will be slightly flushed for a few hours after the treatment. In the next few days a fine peeling may be experienced but usually the dead skin has already come off with the cleansing after the treatment. If slight peeling does occur one can cover this with makeup.
We do not use ablative peels and there is no downtime after this treatment. Patients describe it as pleasant and results can often be seen straight after the peel.
This treatment stimulates fibroblasts and puts antioxidants deep into the dermal layers - this facilitates rejuvenation and a thickening of the collagen layer and therefore the skin itself. The skin looks brighter, smoother, feels soft and supple and patients often do one first to experience it and then do a set of 5 at the required strength.
